Playgroup Fun!

We love our playgroup!
We get together every week for dinner and playtime.
We see everyone at music class as well.
We celebrate birthdays.
We plan game days.
We go on special outings.

In January, we went to Sea World.
In February, we celebrated Valentine's Day.  (We are all pretty sure that our kids will grow up and marry eachother. Kidding, of course!)
In March, we took the kids to see the Mickey Mouse Magic show.

 And painted with ice.
In April, we have a weekend getaway to Tampa to see Thomas the Tank Engine and visit the Tampa zoo.
And we've just started planning our weekend getaway for May.  A house on the beach.  Ahhh, can't wait!

Going to Grandma's (and Grandpa's)

Ok, this first picture is posted.... just because of how cute it is.  I say this all the time, but I love love love that Caydin still has a thing for his lovey's.  He is growing up so fast.  Needing his lovey helps to keep him my baby (in my head at least!)  My mom and dad have owned their new house for about a month now.  Things are starting to come together over there!  Caydin really enjoys going to Grandma's.  I enjoy it too since it's only 5 minutes away!
 Caydin has figured out that he has fun toys over at Grandma's house.  He will also tell you where his bed and toys are going to go at Grandma's.  He'll have a room over there which will be super nice for Rob and I, and easier for my mom who sometimes has to be at our house at 7:30 am.  From their old house, it's a 30 minute drive (because of AM traffic).  At the new house, Caydin will spend the night on days both Rob and I have to work early and my mom won't have to pick him up and/or come over early.  Win, win situation!
Not only does Caydin have a ton of toys that he never gets to play with, but Grandma also has THE BEST pool in the backyard! Caydin loves the pool.  He asks to go swimming all the time.
I have a feeling that Caydin will ask us to live with Grandma and Grandpa one of these days, given all the fun stuff he gets to do and play with over there!

My. Dad. Likes. These. Titles.

Better post some more dirt pictures before he figures out that dirt makes him dirty!
Aren't these plaid shorts cute?!?! My mom found a bunch of them and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them.  Little boy clothes are so boring (you either have demin, khaki, or gray/black shorts...) so I'm super excited that we my mom found these!  Caydin asks for truck shirts all the time, so we've stocked up on cute truck/train/plane sorta shirts for this season!
 In other news, I was set and determined to convert Caydin's bed into a toddler bed this week (during my Spring Break).  But he has been a major pain to get to bed the last couple of nights so I'm worried.  Some nights, he just stays up in his bed and talks to himself, others he screams and cries for half an hour.  My fear is that with the toddler bed, he will be awake, crying, AND out of his bed.  Seems like a recipe for disaster to me.  Rob is against the toddler bed for now.... I should probably figure out what we're going to do like ASAP!
According to the online websites, a ton of nearly 3 year olds are still in cribs.... I don't know why I find that crazy but I do!

He. Plays. In. Dirt.

We recently pulled out this annoying fence on the side of our house and moved a bunch of rocks.  We now have a big rectangle of sad looking, grass-less, dirt left.  Though the dirt wasn't sad looking for long, because we now have alittle boy who MUST play in the dirt everytime he goes outside!!!!  It has provided for hours worth of entertainment for our little guy...  who only talks about garbage trucks, firetrucks, and dump trucks all day long! I really shouldn't be surprised that the dirt interests him so much!
 He still needs his hands wiped everytime he touches the dirt and gets dirty.  Urgh - we're working on that! He just doesn't like to be messy!

Plus, not to worry, he still has a soft spot for his elephant lovey.  SO all is good - he can be a big boy and play in dirt as long as he is still my little boy who loves to cuddle and play with his lovey!

Look how he has grown!!! {St. Patrick's Day style!}

March 2009 - We had just moved into our new house.  Caydin enjoyed the boxes but not hanging out in his playpen while we did lots of cleaning and painting!
March 2010 - Caydin had fractured his collarbone a few days before when he fell off the couch.  He was a tough little guy and actually hated wearing the sling after the first day!
March 2011 - The terrible two's are here though you wouldn't know it by the angel in this picture!

Wordless Wednesday - Too fast for a picture!

And just for kicks....

I just had a conversation with Caydin... it went something like this:

Caydin: I went poo-poo (with a big smile on his face.)
Me: I thought I smelled something!
Caydin: I pushed it out.
Me: Thats great, I'm so glad you pushed it out.
Caydin: {runs off to play again}

Puddle Jumper!

We are finally done with nasty colds around here!  Caydin spent most of last week sick with a runny nose and yucky cough!  While we did keep him away from other kids, we did let him play outside lots and lots and lots!  We got a ton of yard work done! We finally pulled down this old white fence on the side of the house.  The previous owners put it there and it really served no purpose!  I'll have to look for a picture of it! I will say that Caydin enjoyed opening and closing it for the past 2 years!  We trimmed lots of bushes and trees and moved some rocks around.  Fun stuff, I know!
We took Caydin out to eat 2 nights and a row and he did GREAT! We must be at a good "going out" stage.  6 months ago, I think both Rob and I would have gone hungry before taking Caydin to a restaurant! LOL!

At home is a different story, he has been in a serious funk lately.  His terrible twos have finally hit!  By the end of his tantrums, I pretty much want to cry with him!

On Sunday, we went to see a Mickey show at the college. We had a good time.  It was more geared toward older kids but Caydin still had fun seeing Mickey, Minnie, and all the other characters.

Rob cut his hair again on Sunday! It looks much better!  I'll post a picture soon! But for now, you get a pre-haircut picture!
Good Night!!!

Wordless Wednesday - Copycat!

{The Target bag on the lawnmower HAD to be there because Daddy had a bag on his lawnmower! - Just ask Caydin!  He spent a good 15 minutes picking up little pieces of grass and putting them in the bag!}

Animal Kingdom

One of the perks of living near a theme park.... is you get to go whenever you want and you can usually find a really good price if you wait long enough!  Caydin's first time to anything Disney was back in November when we went to Magic Kingdom with our playgroup friends.  We haven't been back since.  BUT we couldn't pass up Florida's 4 day park pass for only $119!  So on Thursday (while I was *sick* from work) we headed over to Animal Kingdom.  The weather was great and the crowds weren't bad at all.  We first stopped at alittle kiddie ride in Dino Land.  Caydin thought it was great!

 Katie and mom didn't think it was so fun being stuck in the little triceratop. HA!
Caydin thought the monkeys were silly.  One monkey was playing with a canvas bag.  He jumped around with it on his foot.  At one point, he had the bag over his head in a game of peek-a-boo!  One of the employees told us that they fill those bags with treats every morning.
Then we went on the safari ride.  I remembered it from when Rob and I went a long time again.  (A walk down memory lane... Rob and I went to Animal Kingdom when Caydin was about 5 months old.  It was there that we got the phone call saying that our offer was accepted on the house we live in now.  We were both so excited to own a house and get out of our 3rd floor apartment!)
 Dressed to impress.... Disney style!
Must have photo spot. Mount Everest is in the background.  It's the home of a really neat roller coaster.  Mom and Caydin went on a little train ride while Katie and I rode the roller coaster.  Fast Pass is AWESOME! We walked right on and skipped the 30 minute wait!

Caydin especially liked the super wind we had on the tram ride back to the car! LOL!
Next up: Magic Kingdom!!!!

Ooooh Thank Goodness for Friday!

I'm finally over my cold! Thank goodness!

I took the day off from work yesterday! Thank goodness!

Grandma, Aunt Tee-tee, and I took Caydin to a special place!

He was super excited to go there!

{I bet you can guess where we took him!}

My difficult kiddo at school was absent today.  Thank goodness!

I was told today that I'm getting a second difficult kiddo.  Argh.

Sometimes I WISH I had poor classroom management just so I won't keep getting the "hard to handle" kids.

Only 61 more days in this school year! THANK GOODNESS!
