Whitewater Rafting!!!

We had such a great time whitewater rafting on the 5th day of our vacation in South Carolina!  Mom stayed at the cabins with the 3 little ones and the rest of us went out for 5 hours of rafting! It was cloudy and cold (at times!) but it was totally worth it!

7 months

Mr. Wyatt turned a whooping 7 months one week ago! He is growing and changing everyday! While away on vacation, he mastered crawling.  It was so interesting to see all the things he got into when we came home from our trip!  He especially loves flip flops, cords (vaccuum and computer!), and Caydin's matchbox/hotwheels cars!
At 7 months,
Wyatt eats pureed food twice a day.
Hates rice cereal and oatmeal.
Drinks 6 oz bottles.
Crawls everywhere.
Pulls up on low furniture.
Smiles all the time!
Wyatt is really good at pinching his puffs and little things off the carpet.
(Even though he is really good at pinching... he isn't so fond of the actual taste of puffs!)
Wakes up once a night (on good nights, usually around 4 am)
Loves playing in water.
Loves to get his fingers messy.
Favorite food is: Sweet Potatoes and Squash
Thinks that foods like apples and peaches are very sweet and gives us lots of yucky faces when we feed him those things.
Spent a day with his older buddy Arwen and Mr. Shiv (Mommy had a work conference)
Then spent the next day with his younger buddy MaKensie, Ms. Erin, and Mr. Steve! (Mommy was still at the conference!)
Went on his first road trip (9+ hours in the car) and did wonderfully!
Wears size 6-9 months and 3, 6, and even 9 month shorts (depending on regular or cloth diapers).
Never wears shoes. HA!

Day 4

Thursday in Oconee South Carolina!
We actually got up early and headed to Greenville.  Rob was flying in to the airport so we planned to pick him up and spend the morning in Greenville doing something kid-friendly!  We didn't leave quite really enough so Rob had to wait for us buuuuuuut, we got there and we got him so all was good!  After picking him up, we headed to the Greenville zoo.  The weather was nice, cloudy and not crazy hot so we thought we'd see some animals.  We saw tons of animals! I really like that zoo, it's small but they have lots of great animals there!  Caydin was excited to see the elephants and giraffes.  If you ask him what his favorite animal is, you will likely get the response, "Elephants and giraffes!"  Wyatt enjoyed his new stroller!

After the zoo, we got some lunch and headed back home.  Grandpa got us lost but thats ok.  We did eventually find the cabins again!  We spent some time outside on Thursday.  My dad and Rob even went and rented us a canoe.  Caydin was so excited to ride in a boat! HA!  Jay and Jen arrived with my favorite 8 month old! We spent the evening outside making a fire (with didn't do us any good because as soon as it got a nice little fire going, a storm hit us!)

always finding places to get stuck.

Day 3

Well I was going to put Day 3 and Day 4 together but I have waaaaaay to many pictures for day 3.  So separate posts it is!
On Wednesday, we spent the morning at the cabin.  Caydin and I went on our morning walk and Wyatt took a nap with Grandma.  On the walk back, Caydin found some rocks that he thought would make a GREAT accessory to his constructions workers! LOL! Those rocks were Caydin's main toy the rest of the week! We may or may not of brought a bag full home! :)
After Wyatt's big nap, we headed out to find another waterfall.  ONLY..... We got lost. A LOT. So Caydin got tired and fall asleep. Then Wyatt got tired and fell asleep.  We finally found the waterfall trail and go figure, both boys were asleep! So, we sat in the car and ate our lunch.  Wyatt woke up first and gave us lots of smiles.  It was alittle harder to wake Caydin up. :)
We were able to hike down a bit with both boys then Grandma stayed with Wyatt while Grandpa, Caydin, and I went alittle lower.  Caydin wasn't so sure of climbing on the rocks and over the tree roots but he LOVED getting to take his shoe off and feel the water.
I was wearing a bright pink shirt and wasn't so fond of the horseflies that were chasing me around! Note to self... don't wear flower like colors while hiking.
We all went to bed early Wednesday because we knew we had to get up early on Thursday to pick Daddy up from the airport! Uncle Jay, Auntie Jen, and cousin Jay were also coming on Thursday!!

Day 1 and 2

We headed north to South Carolina last Monday, June 11, for a vacation! :)
Caydin did awesome in the car.  He rode most of the way with Grandpa (probably talked Grandpa's ears off!).  He thought it was great that he could watch his favorite shows on a little DVD player.
Wyatt did GREAT in the car too.  He slept most of the way and stretched and played the few times that we stopped.  Grandma sat in the backseat with him a little but overall, he did awesome!  (Rob stayed home for a few days because he couldn't get the whole week off of work.  He joined us on Thursday!)
 Wyatt's first Georgia gas station!
The roads went on and on.  I am so thankful that we were following Dad the whole time.  He had the GPS.  I didn't feel the need to check the "distance/time left" a million times! Dad kept the drive interesting with a ton of lane changes though - thanks dad!
We left Orlando around 9 am and finally got to the cabin around 8 pm (after a stop at the grocery store).  LONG day!
We were all alittle surprised by the rustic decor :) but the porch and views were great!
Tuesday morning, the boys were up early and ready to go-go-go.  Caydin and I headed out an hour walk around the lake.  He loved the trails and the bridges.  He found a "fishing stick" that he stuck in all the puddles and little water areas around the lake.  He could stay outside all day if we let him.  He loved it.

Tuesday afternoon, we headed over to a nearby waterfall.  I did alittle bit of exploring and came across a new.... er.... snake friend.  He was huge (though my dad would say he was the size of a metal spoon....)  Caydin liked tossing rocks, sticks, and leaves into the moving water.  He liked watching where the stuff would go.  He didn't want to leave.  :)
