On the train to Washington D.C.

After North Carolina, we headed up to Virginia to spend a week at Grandpa's house.  Caydin has been coming every summer since he was 1.  He even came without me last summer and spent the week with just Grandma and Grandpa.  This summer was Wyatt's first trip to Grandpa's house. I really wanted to take Wy to the White House because I have a picture of Caydin as a one year old in first of the White house on the refrigerator! 

So we drove up to Virginia on Saturday and planned our trip into DC for Sunday. Both boys were excited to ride the train! Wyatt was a little wild toward the end of the train ride though! Caydin just sat and stared out the window most of the way. 

First stop was the White House.  We took a couple pictures in front of the fence then found a field with a bench for Wyatt to eat his lunch.  The boys ran around and I took a couple neat pictures of them running around in the grass in front of the Washington Monument.  Caydin liked hearing the story of how he went up to the top of the Washington Monument when he was only one.  He had all kinds of questions about the monument and why it was under construction.  After a nap for Wyatt in the stroller and lunch for the rest of us, we headed over to the National Air and Space Museum before taking the train back!

 

It was a long, fun day!

Meeting Miss Maddie!

We were so excited for school to get out because that meant Tee-tee's baby Maddie would be ready to come out! :)

 

Right after school finished and Caydin graduated from VPK, we headed to North Carolina to meet Maddie. 

 

We loved getting to spend her first week with her and see a lot of her firsts - ha! Her first bow, her first walk, her first time riding on a ferry, and even her first time at the beach!

 

We can't wait to visit with her again!

Hammocks Beach State Park!

On Thursday, we headed over to Hammocks Beach State Park to take some pictures with a friend that Katie knows! We spent most of the morning with her.  Both boys liked her a lot so I hope we got a couple good photos!

Our plan was to head over to the beach after that but we needed to eat some lunch first.  Katie came to the rescue with some Chik-fil-a! While waiting, Wyatt fell asleep in the stroller and Caydin got stung by a couple bees.  Poor buddy, he was just standing around watching a tractor go across the grass when he got stung.  He started screaming and yelling.  He recovered very quickly though!

 

After lunch, we headed to the ferry for a boat ride across to Bear Island where the beach was located.  Such a nice little beach! Wyatt slept through the first ferry ride but Caydin really enjoyed it! We had to walk about 1/2 a mile to get to the beach.  Thank goodness for strollers and a paved walkway!

 

We really enjoyed the beach and sand.  Both boys had an awesome time! If we are ever in Hubert again, we will definitely go back to Bear Island!!!

ROAD TRIP 2013!!!!

 

We headed North on June 9th... ready to meet our newest niece/cousin Maddie!  The boys were even more excited about meeting Tee-tee and Travis' dog! 

 

That dog put up with A LOT the week we were there visiting! The boys "loved" on her daily.  Caydin loved petting her, throwing her balls, and giving her treats on her nose!  Wyatt loved.... her water bowl!

VPK Graduate!

On June 8th, our preschooler became a VPK GRADUATE!

We were so proud of him for getting up on stage (I think it was his first time on stage!) and singing the songs that he has been practicing.  He was so funny to watch because his tassel got twisted and kept hitting him in the face every time he moved.  When he went up on stage later to get his diploma  - his tassel was missing! HA! I took a lot of pictures of him on stage singing, getting his papers, and hugging his teachers but he has major red-eye so I have to work on those!  Here are some of the pictures we took after we got home! I can't believe how big Caydin is getting!!!

 

 

Mommy's Birthday!

I always thought taking pictures gets easier as the kids get bigger.  I'm beginning to think it doesn't! In fact, I'm on the verge of saying that it actually gets harder, especially if you want your kids to be in the SAME picture!

 

Pssssh.  You don't even want to know how many times I have given up when it comes to taking the boys picture together.  IN-STINKIN-POSSIBLE!

 

On my birthday, we lucked out with a couple pictures in the backyard! SCORE! The rest are just some fun jammies picture that we were playing with!

 

Playgroup goes to the Beach - Indoor shots/Group pictures!

Well the note I left about "checking back tomorrow for the indoor/group pictures" turned into "check back next week for the next pictures"!!!!

 

This past week, I finished up the school year so I was extremely busy! My favorite work BFF got engaged on the last day of school! So cool! Then we had a couple days of cleaning/packing up the classroom! SO MUCH WORK!

 

Now we are getting ready for a road trip to see my first NIECE, MADDIE!!! We could not be more excited about meeting here! Caydin even insisted on telling our neighbor today about Maddie!

 

Anyways, back to beach pictures! There were a few times when we were inside, during meal times or naptimes.  It was amazing to see just how many toys the kids played with the whole weekend.  Maybe 5 total.  The cars were a hit and the blocks were fun to knock over.  They just had a great time playing with eachother and could care less about the toys for the most part!
