He's been 3 for a week now!

How did that happen?!?!  Time is flying by! I thought time slows down once babies/toddlers hit the major milestones but time just seems to be going faster now!  This summer especially! It's almost gone and we haven't even done much - no big trips out of the area yet!  Last weekend, Caydin had a great time with his friends at his gymboree birthday party!  I was sooooo thankful to do it inside and probably will for the next few summers!  Baby #2 will have to do his parties at home since his a "fall" baby and the weather will hopefully not be as hot as it is in July!
Here are some of the decorations we had at Caydin's party (we weren't allowed a whole bunch!)
We went with a Garbage truck theme this year and focused on the colors yellow and green! I think everything came out really cute and I really didn't have to do much!
I wanted to write down some of Caydin's big accomplishments over the past year (so I'll remember!)
This year:
Caydin started Gymboree classes and is learning to follow directions given to him by other adults (i.e. sitting, performing different tasks on the equipment, listening to others read stories.)
Caydin's vocabulary is growing by the minute! He talks NONSTOP these days.
Caydin LOVES all things that move, especially those with wheels.  Garbage trucks, contruction trucks, cars, trains, space shuttles, airplanes, emergency vehicles..
Caydin knows quite a few letters and numbers.  The first letters he learned were A, B, S, T, and M.  He still likes to count 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 20 but does a good job counting to 10 when he slows down and uses objects to help him.
Caydin switched into his toddler bed in April (I think) and potty trained in June.  After only 2 days of accidents, Caydin figuring how to go peepee and has very few accidents since we started (like maybe 5 total!)  Caydin prefers to go poop in a diaper but has used the potty a couple times!  He only wears a diaper/pull-up at bedtime (not naptime) but is almost always dry.  I'm basically just using up his diapers/pull-ups that are open -then he'll start wearing his underwear to bed! Hooray!!!
Caydin asks questions all the time and has just started using the word "why?"
Caydin recognizes places and knows exactly where he wants to go.  "Grandma's house" "grocery store" "zoo" "Disney World" etc
Always asks for "2 more minutes" when its time to do something else.
Is still a Mama's boy!!
Is very excited about his baby brother and asks for him to "come out" a lot.
Eats a lot! Loves cheeseburgers, hotdogs, yogurt, pancakes, pasta, applesauce, and fruit.
Hates green vegetables and banana's.

I'm sure there is a ton of things I've forgetting!

The laptop we always use is broken (sort-of!) so we've been going computer-less for a few days while my dad tries to figure out how to fix it (actually while he tries to figure out if he can retrieve some of my pictures that I didn't save to the external harddrive!)

Waking up on the wrong side of the bed....

We don't have very many days where Caydin acts like a monster but this morning has definitely been one of those days.   In fact, we were just talking the other day about how few tantrums he has been throwing lately.  Caydin is usually a very happy and funny kid but mornings like today make his momma want to go crazy.  (In reference to the title.... he really did wake up on the wrong side of the bed.) His screaming fits this morning have been over getting dressed to leave the house, picking up books that HE threw on the floor, eating lunch, and putting on his underwear after using the bathroom (shooooot, I don't care if he wears them or not but then he throws more fits because I didn't help him put them on.....)
Caydin is learning that he has consequences for the bad choices. When he didn't get dressed or pick up his books, he wasn't allowed to leave to go to Grandma's.  Grandma's house is probably his most favorite place to go (besides Gymboree or the toy store).  After he finally listened ;) we went to Grandma's to eat lunch and he thought he would spit his food on the ground and not listen so we had to come home.  Poor kid sobbed the whole drive home.  That must of been a big consequence for the little guy.
SO thankful that he is napping now.... hopefully he won't wake up on the "wrong side of the bed again" and will have a better afternoon!

And to save this post from being very depressing.... Here are some recent pictures!
