Penguin Love!

We have some serious Penguin Love going on in our house!

We had a visitor...

Recently, Caydin found a small turtle in our front yard. He was so excited and wanted to pick it up but I'm a wimp and didn't want too... SOOO we called Daddy and he came outside to show the boys the little turtle! Both boys got to pet the turtle before Daddy and Caydin put it across the street near the retention pond.

Then the boys played outside in the front yard for awhile.  They LOVE to be in the front yard.  I'm not really sure why.. but they do.  Wyatt loves to ride in his car and Caydin loves to play in the dirt.

From Toddler Bed to Full Sized Bed!

We've been ready to make the switch from little bed to big bed for awhile now.  We just needed a weekend to do it! We took apart Caydin's toddler bed, moved our guest bed into Caydin's room, gave him new sheets (that we bought a long time ago so we could keep all his current car decor, went to the store and bought a new pull-out sofa, then cleaned out the old "guest room" to make it more of a TV room.

What a busy weekend. 

Grandma is the best and helped re-do Caydin's room so that his big bed would fit and he'd still have room to play!

Caydin is loving his new bed.  He is staying in his room more at night now.  He used to sneak into our room in the middle of the night, almost every night.  Now, he still sneaks in but it's usually around 6 am instead of 1 or 2 am.  :)

The GREAT outdoors!

Even though we have a HUGE back porch, all screened in and loaded with toys, the boys LOVE to be in the front yard. Caydin will take his two favorite cars and play for hours in the dirt.  Wyatt just loves to run up and down the sidewalk (or street when he manages to get into it).  Wyatt is a BALL kid.  He loves to play with the real football and basketball.  It is so cute to see Caydin try to play football or soccer with Wyatt.  When they aren't playing in the dirt or throwing a ball, they are riding around the cul-de-sac.  Caydin will push Wyatt in his car or ride his scooter around.  When did he get big enough to do that on his own?!?  Soon, he will be asking to go play at friend's houses (thankfully, we have only little girls on our street now!) or hang out with friends at the park! AHH!

Bye bye Bottles!

I'm not sure how it happened but Wyatt pretty much weaned himself from bottles.  We figured out that drinking bottles in the morning before his car ride to drop Caydin off at school was a VERY BAD IDEA! It resulted in lots of vomit! We are pretty sure he has some motion sickness issues! So, we switched to sippy cups (after the car ride) and he has been doing great!!! He still gets a bottle right before bed but that's all. Caydin was a month shy of 2 when we finally took away the bottles and he still had his pacifier after that! Way to go Wyatt.. only 1 bottle a day and no pacifiers (he has never taken one)!!

Tic Tac Toe with Oma

Caydin learned how to play Tic Tac Toe with Oma.  He loved the game!  I think they played every evening that Oma was here!

Stop growing! (and playtime!)

Wyatt loves trains. He has never sat through a baby show on TV but will watch CHUGGINGTON.  It's a good thing that I think that show is cute. :) It also helps that it comes on the Disney channel at 7:30 am! We have time to get Caydin ready for school without Wyatt screaming to be held or wanting food! So nice!

 

Lately, he has been reminding us over and over that he is no longer a baby.  He is saying a whole bunch of words! He is working on his list of "likes" and "dislikes".  He drives trains around on the floor and makes cute little "train sounds".  He also does things to make the rest of us laugh! Um, hello! STOP GROWING!

 

He loves to be with Caydin.  Lately, he loves to steal all of Caydin's favorite trucks and run away with them.  He loved it when he found Caydin hiding in some toy bins! I love getting to watch the boys interact with eachother.
