Christmas Eve

While trying to save some time in the "uploading 100 Christmas pictures to blog" game, I thought I'd get a little crafty in Photoshop and make some collages! I figure if it doesn't fit on the collage, then I don't really need to post it! So my 100-ish pictures is now done to 2! Score!

Besides, I tried to upload some pictures earlier and Blogger to me I was out of space! Do I really upload THAT many pictures! SOOOO, I bought more space.  Merry Christmas folks (ummmm Dad).  You will not lose any sleep because of a Caydin withdrawal!

We had a good Christmas Eve.  In the morning, we went to Ice! The rest of the day was spent cooking (not by me!) and playing with Caydin.  Caydin is beyond spoiled and loved all the attention he got from his aunts, uncle, and grandparents.  He was constantly saying, "follow me" and "come this way."  Caydin also got to watch a Thomas Christmas movie.  We had a big ol' turkey for dinner on Christmas Eve and a ton of sides with it!  Delish! Caydin filled up on turkey - he loved it!

After dinner, we each opened up a present with Caydin going first.  He got a Follow Me Thomas and LOVES it.  I got a new scarf and Rob got a checkers game (which came in mighty handy after everyone else went to sleep - right, Rob and Jay?!?!)

Ice!

Christmas Eve morning, we headed over to Ice!  Jay and Jen had never been and the rest of us haven't been since before Caydin was born.  Rob didn't get to go because he had to work.  The theme was "Twas the night before Christmas" and it fit great since we were actually there the NIGHT day before Christmas.  We all had a great time.  I didn't so much enjoy the 9 degrees inside the building and either did Caydin but he did get a big kick out of the ice slide.  Here are our pics!

When Caydin saw the Nativity scene, he pointed out "Baby Je-zee" right away as well has "Je-zee's mommy" and the animals.  His Little People Nativity toys really came in handy this year! :)

"Look Mommy, a house just my size!"

Caydin was ready to be out of the cold by this shot!  Caydin didn't get the concept of everything being made out of ice and at one point, was ready to be out of the warm jacket and gloves (he is a true Southern boy) but I think everyone else had a great time!  There is also a Snow! component that goes along with Ice! that we didn't go to this year but I bet Caydin will get both of them next year and have a great time too!!!.

Winter Carnival

On Wednesday, we headed over to a local carnival.  We wanted to take Caydin on the big ferris wheel, which he called a "peary wheel".  We went right before the sun went down and were able to see downtown Orlando as well as the sunset.

While on the ferris wheel, Caydin saw a couple of rides he wanted to go on and lucky for him, he is right at the 36 inch limit that you had to be to go on a lot of the rides.  He went on the dumptruck ride by himself.  His first amusement park (sort-of) by himself - go Caydin! He took driving the car very seriously and kept his hands on the steering wheel the whole time! When it was over, he wanted to ride again so we switched trucks and went again! He wasn't so serious about driving the truck the second time around :)
Caydin also went on a mini-rollercoaster.  Grandma and Grandpa went on with him the first time, then I went on with him the second time.  He had a great time and threw a fit when we didn't let him go on it a third time!
After a snack and some dinner, we saw an animal show.  Very neat - there were 4 tigers, a camel, some goats, donkeys, and lots of little jumping dogs!
 Caydin had a great time!

Caydin at 29 months

Well I'm off of work this week and finding it really hard to get dressed before.... oh, 3 pm.  Yes, I said it. HA!  Caydin must know that we're on vacation because he has been sleeping in until after 9:30 every morning.  This morning, I had to wake him up so that he would be tired enough to take a nap.  It's been alittle cold and rainy lately so we've had lots of time to play inside.  So I thought I'd share some new Caydin things that I've noticed over the past couple of weeks.
He used to say "come on" all the time when he wanted you to go with him... now he says "follow me!" a lot!

He loves that darn blue dog.... who is super annoying and has 2 legs that don't work.

LOVES to read books.  Almost to the point that a teacher gets tired of reading.... and to think... I never thought it was possible of a teacher to get tired of reading.  LOL!
His favorite books right now:
Speedy Little Race Cars
His garbage truck books: I Stink and Smash Mash Crash
His emergency vehicles books from the dollar spot at Target (go figure!)
His German books that Oma got him when he was a baby - the words are in German so I have absolutely no idea what they say... I just make up words. (again, go figure!)
Is afraid of the toilet and will not go near it when his diaper is off.
Hates not having a diaper on.
Sleeps with 3 blankets and 4 loveys. (We count them together everynight.)
Loves his train table and big garbage truck/dump truck.
Loves to cuddle.
Sleeps like a champ (obviously!)
Eats better and better everyday. Still hates vegetables of all kinds.
Requests pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Not interested in playing outside when its cold.  He'll go out, say "brrrr" and come right back in.
Loves to park his bikes all over the house.
Loves Kobe.  He calls her Tobe and offers her cars anytime she is out of her cage.
Very interested in the christmas tree and walks around with his Uncle Jay's present in his hand, but hasn't tried to open anything.
Knows where we hide the unwrapped presents (on the top shelf of the guest room closet) and asks for them often.  I don't really know what I'll do next year when it comes to hiding presents!
Likes to play tag and tries to get anyone his size to play with him.
Is usually very nice and polite when playing with his friends.
Draws a pretty good circle when coloring with markers.
Counts, 3, 2, 5, 3, 6, 2.
Is getting more and more colors right when asked (but still gets a lot wrong) and doesn't always answer "yellow" all the time!
Doesn't cry when brushing teeth anymore.  He actually likes to help brush and does a pretty good job of it.
Opens doors and turns on lights.

I'm sure there is a lot more.  I'll try to add the rest as I think of them! Happy Monday!

From nice to nasty!

After our fun day with friends, we spent some time indoors for acouple days... since the weather got chilly! Caydin didn't mind... indoors, it was warm enough to run around with no shirt on!
Grandma brought over Caydin's Little People Nativity set and Caydin has been spending lots of time playing with Baby Jesus.  The animals like to crash a lot when Caydin is playing... I'm not sure thats a good thing or a bad thing!  But if you look in the picture, the cow, goat, and fox (we aren't sure what the one animal is...) had a small accident! :D
I've been playing with the big box alot too (minus the marker this time).

Caydin has learned to pull up his own pants with they are sagging around his knees! LOL! (I find this picture funny!)
The overnight, the weather got really cold! Caydin wasn't very fond of his big puffy coat the first time he wore it... but loves it now. We are all thankful that the cold weather only lasted a week (so far!) and are happy to see days with temps in the 60's and 70's again!

Visit with Bestest

I say this all the time, but I'm pretty bad at posting pictures when they happen.  I'm usually a week or two behind!  But now I'm on vacation so it's time to get this blog up to date... otherwise I'll be posting about Christmas in mid-January!  2 Thursdays ago (December 9th), Catherine came over with Landen and Gavin.  Then Jen and her two girls joined.  We had a fun morning!

The boys "talked" trucks and trains.
Lily played "mommy" with Gavin.  I'm pretty sure she was amazed by all his hair! She kept pushing it out of his face and patting it down.  Funny info - it looks as though Gavin's hair is longer than Lily's.  Poor Lily is almost 2 and a 1/2 and has never had a haircut and Mr. Gavin is rockin the hair even with a couple of haircuts!
All three were born within a few days of eachother!
I'm pretty sure they will be great friends as they get older!
He is tooooo cute!

Christmas Pictures (take 1)

Try to take a 2 year olds picture in front of the Christmas tree and you'll likely get this.  Trust me, it is sooooo much easier to take a picture of Caydin's beloved blue dog than it is to take a picture of Caydin.  I almost considered putting the blue dog picture in with our Christmas cards!
After I had taken a picture of Caydin's back and side, and an okay sideways shot...
...and a silly hands on head shot...I decided to pull out all the stops and give Caydin a lollipop.
Two seconds later, I realized a lollipop was not a good idea! :)
but I did get a picture of Caydin sharing with his beloved dog and lots of tongue out/licking lollipop pictures (I only shared one - you're welcome.)
I finally gave up when Caydin turned around and wouldn't look at me anymore!
