4 year old checkup!

A few weeks ago (September 4, 2012), Caydin headed over to the doctor's for his 4 year old checkup.  He is growing like a crazy man. 

 

Weight: 34 lbs

Height: 41 and 1/4 inches

 

Up 5 pounds from last year and much taller too! We talked about my concerns for his speech but the doctor wasn't worried at all.  He pretty much said that Caydin will not qualify for any services because he is very understandable (my concerns are just with a few sounds that he omits when speaking)..  Caydin is perfect in every other way! :)

 

We talked when Caydin was 3, about the option of Caydin getting some of his Kindergarten shots at 4.  So before the appointment, we were talking to Caydin about what the doctor was going to do and the shots.  He was worried.  In fact, Lovey came to the appointment too.  He was upset for a few minutes but fine after that! He even went to swim class after getting 2 shots in his legs!

 

He ended up getting a fever and runny nose a few days after his appointment but we think it was back to school germs. He seemed like he was getting better but woke up one Monday morning saying he couldn't hear out of his ears. We pretty much knew it was an ear infection so Grandma took him to the doctor for his first ever "sick" visit.  Turns out he had er infections in both ears! Tough dude, he never complained at all about his ears... and only said he couldn't hear out of his ear once.

 

10 days of meds and he's back to normal! Hopefully no more sickness for us!

 

Soccer Practice

Caydin's school offers a 30 minute soccer practice every week. We took Caydin for a free "check it out" sort of visit and he loved it so we quickly signed him up. It is inside so we never have to worry about bad weather. They don't have games but they get lots of practice with actual soccer skills. Grandma takes him and says that he does a really good job! Guess we need to get him a soccer set for Christmas this year! :)

Labor Day fun!

We had a really fun Labor Day! Grandpa was here for the weekend. That makes any weekend good for Caydin.  If Caydin had a cellphone with speed dial, Grandpa would be his number 1! Rob was working so we spent the mornings at the pool.  On Labor Day, we visited Erin, Steve, Carter, and MaKensie over for a swim.  Uncle Josh also brought Devon and Dakota so Caydin was a super happy kiddo! We are all so thankful that Grandma and Grandpa have a big pool with lots of room for lots of people!  After swim time, we headed over to Andrea and Shiv's for some playtime and food! Yum, yum!

 I'm handsome when I can't figure out why I can't crawl away from Grandpa. (maybe because your dear grandpa is grabbing you by the overall straps!)

 I'm especially handsome (AND HAPPY) when I sneak away and cause trouble!!!

Swim Weekend - Saturday!

Last weekend, Grandpa was in town and Daddy had to work the morning shift at work all weekend so me and the boys headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's to enjoy the sunshine!  (I wish we were spending this weekend at the pool but unfortunately 3 out of 4 of us are sick. Booo.)

But back to last weekend, I would bring the boys over right before Wyatt's first nap so that he could sleep and Caydin and I could swim.  On Saturday, we spent about 3 hours outside.  Grandpa grilled some hotdogs and we ate lunch outside too!  Wyatt was lucky both Saturday and Sunday - he got to do some swim time too! Wyatt loooooves the water but he is A LOT of work to have out there! He is figuring out that it is more fun to be in someones arms than being in the baby water float.  Since Caydin started swim lessons, he has become a little daring fish and will jump in anywhere and at anytime.  Thankfully, he is swimming very well and we don't really have to help him.. Just keep an eye on him!

Construction Boy

Caydin is crazy about constuction trucks. All of them.

He knows more about construction than I do.

Usually, if I tell him it's time to clean up... he will respond with "I can't. I'm busy working."

Every night, there is a "work site" set up somewhere in the house.

When he gets in trouble and has a put a car on top of the refrigerator.... it's always a construction car (since those are his favorite)..

He hates when Wyatt touches any of his trucks.

Anytime we leave the house, Caydin has some sort of construction truck in his hand (usually like 3 or 4 of them!)

When we read a book, he almost always requests a construction book. 

He sure does love his construction trucks!

Boys will be boys...

3 years younger but this little guy has no fear!

I love watching them interact more and more each day.

 

Mr. Wyatt turns 9 months!

Get ready for a super picture-heavy post!  I just couldn't decide what pictures of Wyatt to post! :)

 

Well our always-smiling baby is back... with his 9 month post!

(He turns 10 months in 2 weeks so I figured I better post this ASAP!)

 

This month Wyatt....

...started eating a lot more solid food.

...kept up his sleeping through the night routine (most of the time!)

...has 2 teeth.

...weighed 19 pounds, 6 ounces at his check-up.

...stands without holding anything.

...walks the furniture.

...takes 2 long naps during the day (or sometimes 3 short naps).

...is a little fish in the water.

...yells mama and dada alot (though it is not always directed at the right person).

...loves to be outside.

...loves any toy that Caydin has and wants nothing to do with "baby" toys.

...loves to "snack" on all the play food.

...tries to drink from KoBe's water container (and probably has).

...LOVES KoBe but is soooooo rough with her.

...found the power button on the cable box at Grandma's.

...is figuring out how to "walk" while holding on to someone's hand.

...wears cloth diapers (or size 3 disposables), size 9 month or 12 month clothing.

...only wore shoes once or twice this month.

...loves to grab the computer, the cell phones, and the tv remotes.

 

And now.... picture time!!! I took 2 sets of photos with his 9 month stickers because the first group was taken later in the day and I had to use my flash.  The photos in the green outfit are less "flashy" but yet as cute! :)

Solids!

Wyatt is eating solids like a champ these days! He isn't doing entire "solid" meals yet but he tries (and likes) just about everything I give him!

It is so nice to have a little guy who isn't picky! Caydin was very picky when he was Wyatt's age!

Hopefully Wyatt will like veggies more than Caydin does though!!!
