Swim Weekend - Saturday!

Last weekend, Grandpa was in town and Daddy had to work the morning shift at work all weekend so me and the boys headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's to enjoy the sunshine!  (I wish we were spending this weekend at the pool but unfortunately 3 out of 4 of us are sick. Booo.)
But back to last weekend, I would bring the boys over right before Wyatt's first nap so that he could sleep and Caydin and I could swim.  On Saturday, we spent about 3 hours outside.  Grandpa grilled some hotdogs and we ate lunch outside too!  Wyatt was lucky both Saturday and Sunday - he got to do some swim time too! Wyatt loooooves the water but he is A LOT of work to have out there! He is figuring out that it is more fun to be in someones arms than being in the baby water float.  Since Caydin started swim lessons, he has become a little daring fish and will jump in anywhere and at anytime.  Thankfully, he is swimming very well and we don't really have to help him.. Just keep an eye on him!

Backyard Fun

I could post about a million pictures of the boys on the back porch playing in the little pools (thank you Target for super cheap kiddie pools!).  We are outside just about every evening (and sometimes in the morning too!).  We can't wait to get back over to Grandma's house to go swimming in the big pool but thats alittle tough right now with Grandma/Grandpa out of town and Rob with only one "working" leg! Caydin is easy to entertain while outside and Wyatt will hang out in the water for awhile.  When he gets bored, he usually has his evening bath, then back outside to walk around in the walker.  Being outside wears both boys out and makes bedtime SUPER easy (which makes mommy SUPER happy!)

(one of these days, I will put Wyatt in his bathing suit when we go outside!)

(as you can see, Wyatt bee-lines for the pool when the sliding glass door opens, and is usually soaking wet before I can get his clothes off! He doesn't even mind the rough cement on his knees!)

Lil' Fishy!

Caydin started swim lessons about 3 weeks ago! He is doing GREAT! We found out about these lessons because one of my co-workers teaches swim classes there during the summer months.  Caydin started in level 1 and moved up to level 2 after 2 weeks!  Level 1 was just getting him used to the water.  He used a kickboard to move around the pool, practiced floating on his back with the instructor, jumping into the water, blowing bubbles, and putting his whole face underwater.  Now that he is in level 2, he is working on moving farther distances and kicking while floating on his back, swimming without the kickboard, diving for rings (he is sooooo excited that he went underwater and pulled up a blue ring!).  He is still happy to go to class everyday and comes out of the pool smiling everyday! Makes a momma happy!

Wyatt's first swim in the pool!

Wyatt has put his feet in the pool water lots of time and got his swimsuit on a few times at the beach last weekend (but he never actually went in the water!)  So when Jay, Jen, and little Jay, Grandpa, and Uncle Josh were around... it was time for the real thing!  He was so excited to get suited and sunscreened up for the water. :)
When we walked outside to put him in the water, this is what we found. I literally LOL'ed!
My favorite part was the sand shovels that he used as oars!
Such a smart kid!

Wyatt loved his first time in the water and stayed outside with us for about an hour.  He didn't mind the water turtle float.  Caydin always hated that thing (obviously Caydin likes it too now!)
We are looking forward to spending the whole summer in the water!

"I wish.. I wish.. To be a Fish!"

Grandma and Grandpa's pool is warm enough to swim in again!!! Caydin has been asking to swim in it for weeks! So after a hot day of working out in the yard last weekend (April 2nd), Grandpa decided to go for a swim.  Caydin, of course, was in there about 5 seconds after we asked him if he wanted to join!  Thank goodness for pool gates that lock, for without the gates I'm sure we'd have a little swimmer everyday of the year!!
Even Wy got on his little swimsuit and went for a splash!  He loves bathtime but wasn't so sure about the chilly pool water... especially when Grandpa let drops of chilly water run down his back!
