Playgroup takes on the beach at Palm Coast Florida!

Afternoons were spent down at the beach! Caydin, Carter, and Ava loved it! They jumped the waves and played in the sand.

Arwen wasn't really into the sand and waves, nor was Makensie.  Wyatt loved the water and would run to the water then back out again.  He also liked the sand (though it wasn't really sand, it was crunched up shells!)

The beach had beautiful shells all over so we had fun collecting some to take home!

Tomorrow I'll post the pictures we took inside the condo and the group shots! :)

Playgroup takes on Palm Coast Florida!

A few weeks ago, we headed to a new place for our annual Playgroup beach weekend.  We headed to a resort on the Palm Coast!  We had such a great time! The big kids are at a perfect age and want to be independent.  We really didn't have to worry about them much.  Arwen wasn't really liking the water at all.  The babies, Wyatt and M were... well babies... and had to be followed everywhere.  I was so thankful to have Grandma with us all weekend.  An extra hand to keep an eye on Wyatt.  Wyatt really had no fear of the water and would walk all the way in.  He constantly is splashing and always has his mouth wide open! He slipped a couple times and went all the way into the water but never cried when we lifted him up.  No FEAR!

We started each morning with breakfast at the condo then headed to the pool for a couple hours of fun in the sun.  Around lunchtime, we would head back up to the condo for food and naps for the little kids.  In the afternoon, we headed down to the beach to play in the sand and splash in the waves.

We had such a good weekend.  We look forward to it every year! Next year, we've decided to switch coasts. :)

Beach pictures coming tomorrow!

Build a Bear

Last weekend, Caydin and I headed over to the mall to go to Ava's build-a-bear birthday party!
Caydin picked out a tabby cat and told the employee that its name was Cabby.  (Later at home, he just called it "cat".)
He liked getting to stuff his cat, kissing the heart and sticking it inside, pretending to wash it, and giving it a green ribbon!

Afterwards we ate lunch, sang happy birthday to Ava, then shared yummy cupcakes!
Such a fun morning for Caydin.  He adores his friends and is always excited to spend time with them!

Christmas Craft

Last Thursday, I bought all the goodies needed to make ice cream cone trees to playgroup.
We used green icing, ice cream cones, and m&m's.  The mommies did the green icing for the kids then we let them go crazy with the m&m's.  All the kids had fun and enjoyed the craft.  Of course, they also went crazy afterwards when they were eating them!! A few of the kids didn't want to touch the cones because the icing made them sticky and messy but others went all in and ate the cone until nothing was left!  Caydin ate a few m&m's but I ate most of his cone!

Baby wipes nearby.... a must-have if you decide to do this edible activity!

Playdate with Carter

A few days before we left for the beach (6-20), we were excited to have our good friend's son Carter over at our house for the afternoon and evening.  He is about 10 months older than Caydin so the boys get along great! Both are very interested in cars, trucks, and trains so they stayed busy all afternoon.  Once Rob got home, we took the boys to Grandma's house for a swim in the pool.  We played with the bikes and basketball hoop outside then got ready for dinner! We ordered pizza and wings for dinner.  After a bath, both boys got cozy in bed to watch a movie.

Ava's Party

Last weekend, after taking family pictures, we headed over to Ava's for her 2nd birthday party! Our friends, Andrea and Shiv, did a great job planning for the party! Caydin's kindermusik teacher was there to sing and dance with the kids.  She did a puppet show for everyone and our boys thought it was the greatest thing ever!

Parachute is always a big success! I'm pretty sure Rob had more fun than Caydin!
Aya did a bit of schooling with the boys while I did a bit of Elmo cupcake eating.  I was very fond of the Elmo pure sugar heads that where the decoration on top of each cupcake.
Proof that I ate too much sugar... funky pictures :)

Playgroup Art

Caydin has always enjoyed his Kindermusik classes, not so much for the music and activities but because he has friends to run and play with.  When our Kindermusik class ended for the Spring session, a bunch of families decided to get together at homes for playgroup.  And thus - our weekly playgroups have started! Now 4 months later, we look forward to getting together every week.  Last week, we started doing a little craft activity with the kids because we all decided to skip the Kindermusik art class (saving money ya know!!!) so here you have Caydin and his buddies doing art!

His first week, he wasn't so impressed by the art or the painting.  He was much more interested in all the dad's playing football on the Playstation.  He did however put a couple drops of paint on a little green tote bag and added a few pompom's.

This week, we did the art activity at our house and did ice painting.  I mixed water with food dye, then froze it (added in straws to be the handles when the ice was half frozen). Little Lady and Caydin who were the two who wanted nothing to do with last week's project were the two most interested in the ice painting! The older boys wanted to jump in the bounce house but did come over to paint alittle!

We will definitely do ice painting again!
