Outside {fun} = castle

This picture is a bit blurry, but its still a great picture! Caydin and I spent the weekend outside playing with his new castle. One side is a ladder, of sorts, and the other has a slide. Caydin has mastered the ladder very well with no shoes on but can't quite get it with shoes so I helped! He did, however, start sliding down by himself!
...now if only he would learn to SIT before he dives off the front!!!
He looks like a little tough guy with his "war mark" under his eye {hmmmm.... GRANDMA!!!} but his lovie throws the "tough guy" attitude all off!

Playing outside is getting to be so fun! Caydin played soccer {more like Monkey-in-the-middle} and ran after the soccer ball while Rob and I kicked it back and forth. When he would catch it, he'd pick it up and run off with it.... so we're still working on those soccer rules...

...but I remember a day not soooo long ago when the little guy would scream just because he touched grass!! SO much has changed!!

Fall in Chicago

Maybe the COOLEST tree in the whole world! Sadly, it was surrounded by duck poop!
Downtown Chicago from the top of Willis Tower

**Katie, Jen, and I**
{I was in LOVE with the fall colors found all around downtown Chicago!}

{Jen had a friend living in Chicago who had the best view of the city from his porch! Good thing too... because I could run out, take a picture and run back in to the warm living room! :)

Rob and I ... downtown Chicago
No pictures of Caydin in this post... he stayed with Grandma and Grandpa for the day while the rest of us went and walked around Chicago. It was fun to spend time with my siblings and not have to worry about nap time or lunchtime or diaper changes or... well the list of baby things to worry about is ENDLESS!
A post of Caydin's adventures in Chicago are coming soon!

Our Trip to Chicago

Here is Aunt Katie on the shuttle to the airport.
Caydin was quite interesting on the plane this past weekend. He mastered the art of hanging rom the tray table! Such a monkey :) He also mastered the art of window shade opening and practiced many. many. many times. Did you note that he did it MANY times?!? Don't worry, I decided to spare you the tons of window opening pictures!

He also mastered the art of seltbelt unlocking. So, in the case of an emergency, if Caydin is on the plane, you will be safely released from your seltbelt!

Practicing seltbelt unlocking... on Daddy this time!
More pictures from our trip coming soon!

Pumpkin Craving Time

Last Sunday, Caydin and I craved our big pumpkin. We had 3 pumpkins actually, a little baby one that Marisa gave Caydin {with some super cool colors on it}, a medium sized one that we got at the pumpkin patch and the BIG one. We only planned to crave the big one... the medium one was supposed to be decorated by Cay-man but sadly, we never got the time to do it! hehe, next year little man.
Caydin was very interested in the pumpkin and very curious to see what I was doing. He only touched the goo/seeds twice. Haha, he doesn't like to get messy, remember!
Caydin was super interested in the cut-out lid for the pumpkin though! He would take it off, put it on, take it off, put it on... etc. Then he figured out that it was like a container and he could stick stuff inside so i fished out many balls and a few small toys :)

After a minor meltdown {I just didn't think it would be good if I gave Caydin the craving tools}, we headed inside so Caydin could watch some TV and I could finish the craving!

And there he is, Mickey Mouse! This picture shows the craving half done!

Workin' at Aunt Katie's...

Caydin's first lesson with powertools. I must say, he was a bit scared by the noise but did enjoy seeing the saw dust flying around in the air {see second picture}

15 months

Caydin turned 15 months yesterday and I totally forgot! Actually, I didn't forget because I remember telling a few people that he was exactly 15 months at work yesterday {i get asked ALMOST daily about Caydin which is great since I LOVE LOVE LOVE to talk about him!!!}, but I did forget to blog about it!

Happy 15 months little guy!

This month, Caydin is....

**working on some new teeth, and drooling like crazy!

**mastering the art of sippy cups!

**eating solids like crazy {except for veggies... doesn't like those anymore - we have to sneak a serving or two in with yogurt or mixed in with pasta}

**still taking 2 naps a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon and somehow still manages to be in bed between 9 and 9:30!

**is attending music classes again, and finally starting to interact with the kids and toys more than the doors and toy containers :)

**constantly RUNNING

**said "Bye Mom" once together but says bye and mom/mama all the time. Caydin also says Hi, 'ello {hello}, pla {plane}, dada... and thats pretty much it. He babbles non-stop all day, everyday so when he figures out words... I imagine he will NEVER stop :)

**Caydin has learned to squeeze water out of the bath tub squirters... though he usually squirts the water right into his own face!!! regardless of where he squirts, he laughs!!!

**Caydin loves the outdoors and will stay out there from sunrise to sunset... He has figured out how to slide the sliding glass door to the porch open and comes and goes as he pleases {at least, he wishes he could come and go as he pleases}. We are soooo thankful to have a BIG screened in porch outside that he can play on and us not worry about what trouble he may or may not be getting into!
