Dear Potty Training Fairies......

****UPDATE: While finishing up the text for the pictures, Caydin told me he had to poop and started grabbing himself.  I asked him if he had to go potty and he said yes but by the time we got there, his underwear was alittle wet and he only had about 2 drips left for the potty.  We of course praised him and not even 1 minute later, he was saying he had to go again. SUCCESS! Caydin had no clue what was going on or why we were so excited for him.  All he knew was that he was getting a toy because he finally used the potty!  He then told me he had to go and used the potty 2 times after that.  So proud of him!

He had one more accident before taking a bath.  Hoping tomorrow is even more successful than today! ****

Please grant me the patience to get this kid potty trained!!!!!
He seems like he is going to be the kind of kid of potty trains late, though I've read that the average age for boys to potty train fully is 3.5 years.  So, maybe, there is some hope left for us.
We started yesterday morning with underwear and sitting on the potty and Caydin is doing great with it (big success since a few months ago, he refused to even go near the bathroom without a diaper on).
We've tried every kind of bribery you can think of but so far, nothing is great enough for him to actually GO on the potty.
Yesterday {day 1} we washed 8 pairs of underwear and didn't have any luck on the potty.
Today {day 2} we will probably wash just as many pairs and so far have only had a few drips in the potty.
Pretty frustrating I think.  I decided not to do any diapers during naptime and he didn't have an accident yesterday or today while sleeping.
More updates, hopefully better updates soon!

Caydin has a thing for tennis shoes and socks.  So much so that he thinks its funny to wear socks on his hands.
Also, Caydin discovered the paint program on the computer. LOVES it. (But not enough to take a picture with his artwork!)

Weekend Recap!

We had our version of a "boring" weekend, which just means that we didn't have anything big planned! Woohoo!
On Saturday, I took Caydin to his gymboree class then we played outside.  Caydin played with his bikes and balls and I picked weeds.  Let me just say that WE HAVE A TON OF WEEDS!  Mainly because we have a ton of rocks, bricks, tiles, and plants.  Drives me crazy.

Caydin told me that the sun was too bright so I was finally able to get his sunglasses on him --- like the first time he has put sunglasses on in 6 months!  He's so strange - he hates hates hates flipflops and sunglasses...  Doesn't the kid know we live in FLORIDA?!?!
Saturday night, Rob and I had a special night out on the town while Caydin got to spend some special time with Grandma.  We headed to Cirque de Soleil and saw La Nouba! SOOOOO good! Rob did a great job picking out my birthday gift this year!  We got a quick bite to eat after the show before we headed home!

Rob went to work Sunday morning so Caydin and I spent some time cleaning.  Caydin and I did the dishes then we did some mopping on the kitchen floor.

Nap time was interesting... as Caydin didn't really want to take one as first! Urgh!
On Sunday, Rob did some yard work (I think) so Caydin was watching through the window.... you know, while he was ON the window! He was very proud of himself and announced that he was "up high".  I promptly took him off the window and moved the train away..... after I took a picture!
Finally -- train time!! Caydin wanted to play trains before his nap but I had to tell him that it would have to wait until after naptime.  He wasn't so happy about it but took a nap anyways.  The second I woke him up and said "hello", he said "mommy, do trains now?" and ran to the computer-soon-to-be-guest-room to set the train tracks up! He doesn't forget anything!
Caydin stayed busy while I worked on report cards.  2 juice cups & lots of cars = happy boy!
THANK GOODNESS for Tee-tee.  She had to read about 15 books to Caydin before bedtime (and I got time to clean the kitchen - again!)

Caydin's going to be a BIG BROTHER!!!!

Yup, it's true! Caydin is going to be a big brother sometime in late November or early December!  He can hardly contain his excitement! :)  Kidding of course, he doesn't understand that there is even a baby in mommy's belly.  We've talked to him about it and it is soooo funny to see him try to process the information.  Usually he says that he has a baby in his belly too.  Today, our conversation went like this:

Caydin: "Daddy, where did water go?" (Rob and Caydin had been sharing a glass of water.)

Rob: "The water is in my belly."

Caydin: "Water in my belly too."

Me: "What's in mommy's belly?"

Caydin: "Water in mommy's belly."

Me: "Is there a baby in mommy's belly."

Caydin: "Yes, baby in water."

Me: "What is the baby doing in the water?"

Caydin: "Baby jump in the water."
Alrighty then. Hahaha.  I thought he had pretty good reasoning though. :)

I didn't document my pregnancy with Caydin much.  We did pictures about a month before he was born but other than that, we don't have much.  Caydin was a surprise baby, definitely not a planned baby, so I wasn't super excited about having him at the beginning.  He grew on me though.  I mean, he grew in me. :) I was hardly ever sick with Caydin and I stayed very small until the end.  I only gained 25ish pounds with Caydin.  I'm a little nervous with this new baby because Caydin's pregnancy/birth/newborn stage was soooooo easy.  ;)

But we are both very excited about this new little one.  We weren't really "trying" to have a baby, but we decided we weren't going to prevent one either.   We found out about baby bean on March 28th (with a test done at home!) I was on spring break from school and so I had the whole week to let it sink in.  Rob was very excited, so excited that he answered my phone with my mother called that same day and announced that we were having a baby before even saying hello.  Then he handed the phone to me and ran away.  My mom was totally confused!  She didn't believe it at first but we told her the next day that it was true.

We had our first appointment on May the 9th.  Our doctor (same one we had with Caydin - I really like him) gave us a due date of November 27th.  My starting weight with this little one is 127 pounds.  I'm interested to see if I get bigger this time around.  Belly size wise, I'm definitely bigger!  I asked about hearing the heartbeat and my doctor warned me that it might still be too soon to hear anything but he said he was try.  I got to hear the baby's heartbeat as soon as the doctor put the machine to my belly, it was very loud and very clear! :)  The doctor was very happy with it, in the 170's.

Since my last appointment, I've had a few days of yuckiness.  More than I had with Caydin but not crazy bad.  Certain smells make me feel sick right away and I always want pizza things - breadsticks, begal bites, and hot pockets.  At night, I HAVE to have a glass of milk (and I'm not much of a milk person!)

We head to the doctor again on this Monday (June 6th).

And now for new baby's first belly picture!
Enjoy!

Magic Kingdom - Trip 2

We headed over to Magic Kingdom on my birthday (May 21st) to use up our last couple of tickets.  We learned to go in the afternoon since it is much cooler and the wait times are short!  Most of grumpy families seem to head home so its also much more pleasant! HA!  I'm pretty sure we could skip the actual park and just ride around on the parking lot tram and monorail all day.  Go figure! He is in LOVE with the monorail.
We started out the afternoon with the bear show.  I can't remember the name of it but it was pretty awful!  I'm pretty sure people only go to it so they can get some air-conditioned air!  The bears, outfits, songs haven't changed since I was a kid!  Let me just say again that it was AWFUL!  HAHA!
Tee-tee and Caydin on the boat ride!
Katie and me on the boat ride.
 Oooooh the castle!!!
We did get to see the Mickey 3-D show.  Caydin has never worn 3-D glasses before but did a great job keeping them on.  I tried to show him how to reach his hand out to "touch" the 3-D images but he wasn't impressed.  I'm pretty sure the show was overwhelming for him!
Now Aladdin's ride was a winner!  I stayed on the ground for this one... its just safer that way! ;)

He thinks he's a cowboy!

Meet my Buzz and Woody cowboy boot wearing big boy!
His favorite thing about his boots are the light up characters on the side of each boot!  He stomps around the house just so he can see the lights.
Daddy got them at work for a whooping $2!
I'm not sure they go with driving a dump truck full of "elephant lovey" but Caydin does so thats all that matters.
The boots are also great for high-jumping, one of his favorite sports.
So next time you see Caydin, make sure to greet him with a "howdy, partner!"
hehe

I never and I always

Nope, I NEVER let my kid jump on his bed.
I mean, seriously, that is soooooooo unsafe and beds were made for sleeping.
and I NEVER take pictures of my kid doing what he isn't supposed to do. Nope, not me.
I ALWAYS make my kid throw out the recycling.  He loves doing it.  We call him the "recycling boy" but he doesn't really like that... he prefers "big boy".
Riding his bike to the recycling bins is just an added bonus!
and I ALWAYS take pictures.  Memories, you know.
